Hi, I’m Haley!
I’m a straightforward, slightly awkward subdivision dweller turned farm wife. My husband and I live on his family farm in Petersburg, IL where I keep adding livestock. I’ve gotten a donkey off of craigslist and a couple of goats from a random man in Greene County. One day this funny farm will become a petting zoo I swear. We have two feral boys- 6 and 3 years old- that make each day an (exhausting) adventure. Raising these free range kids on the farm is a dream come true.
As for my background- I graduated from SIUC with a degree in Journalism that I haven’t used a single day since I left there in 2013. I have fully accepted that I went to college to make lifelong friends with the women I cheered with. Go Dawgs! On the day I moved home from school I met my husband at the Menard County Fair (where we eventually got engaged and married). It’s my favorite part of each summer.
I am passionate about remembering our veterans through Wreaths Across America. I started a fundraising group for Camp Butler National Cemetery 6 years ago and am proud to say we raise enough money for thousands of wreaths each year to be placed on veteran’s graves.
Some random information about me: I don't cook but when I have the time I love to bake and decorate cakes. I believe in being outside as much as possible. I’m a middle child and easily the funny one of the family even if my siblings don’t agree. Our dogs are named after an NCIS character (Gibbs) and former Packers player (Jordy Nelson). I'm very much an experience over things gift giver always wanting to venture off on an impulsive trip. You can catch me listening to Taylor Swift as loud as possible and crossing National Parks off my bucket list.
Enough about me though, I can't wait to get to know you!
